What makes your speed dating successful?
Today, speed dating is one of popular means of meeting new people. There is less pressure, safer, and less time consuming compared to a normal first date. However, a strict time limit makes it hard to find out what people want or get to know someone. Therefore, it would be interesting to research what factors make speed dating successful. Based on the research study conducted in Columbia University by R Fisman, SS Iyengar, et al (2006), we explore people’s main interest and preference in selecting a possible partner. Original dataset was collected from a series of experimental speed dating events from 2002 to 2004 and includes demographic and attribute information on 552 subjects, and each subjects’ ratings for others during the 4 minute interactions. The dataset might provide us with interesting and useful information such as difference in preference of a partner by gender or their social/educational background that might influence their decision making.
